Heather Brewster

Heather Brewster is a Captain in the USAF and works full time as an Critical Care Registered Nurse. Heather believes that being in service to others is a fundamental part of participating in the Human Experience. She was raised in the Philippines as the daughter of missionaries and spent her formative years helping her parents and brothers as they worked among the Filipino people. Prior to joining the military she worked with several different non-profit organizations teaching after school programs in HIV/AIDS, STI and pregnancy prevention and computer skills classes. As a member of the United States armed forces she has spent time as a Chaplain Assistant, Fire fighter and for the last 10 years as a nurse. She is also a national registered Paramedic since 2003 and worked extensively throughout Southeast Missouri in that capacity. She has taught several medical programs in overseas settings and enjoys the privilege of working with international health partners. Heather holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from Oklahoma Baptist University, a Bachelor of Nursing from Saint Louis University and is studying for her dual Masters in Emergency and Disaster Management and Homeland Security.
