Dear Volunteers of Caring Hands Africa,
It is with much honor that I write this message of gratitude to you. It all started with a dream when the Executive Director indicated his heart for the underserved populations in Africa and around the world. He insisted he wanted to use his nursing skills to reach the hard to reach places in rural areas of Africa. With very little, volunteers like you and his family put together medicines and basic items for healthcare which he followed through and provided medical care to 169 sick persons including children. His dedication and the commitment of many of you have propelled me into pushing our mission/vision and agenda to the next level. Too often we underestimate the power of an embrace, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.
Life is a gift regardless of where you are, who you are, what color of skin you have and what creed you believe in. To walk on a thin rope but make the greatest impact is to dare to dry the tears of those in desperate need of healthcare and basic needs like water, education, and food.
I urge you as a person of a great heart to reach down and pull up a child, a family or a community from the pit of lack. Join us to touch the needy and make the world a better place for humanity.

]]>Water is a source of life, in areas where potable water is scarce, contaminated water becomes the last resort, sadly water becomes the source of death.
]]>– Abandoned teenage pregnant girls ( particularly in Africa)
– provide prenatal care, Basic hygiene supplies
Provide Health education and resources for;
– The uneducated children
– Sponsorship of children through primary education (Africa)
– Provide back to school supplies (locally and in Africa)
– Provide food, clothes, and shoes to local homeless shelters and Orphanages in Africa

Nurses, nursing students and doctors. whether you are in Africa, USA or another Continent with a heart for undeserved populations in healthcare, this is for you. We will travel across difficult roads and sometimes have to take a boat or canoe to reach our destination. Our communities are usually in desperate need for healthcare as the lack portable water, electricity, latrines and basic amenities. Reaching these communities truly takes the heart of a determined angel with a heart to add meaning to a life. If you are an open-minded, flexible and pro-active medical professional and are in Africa for the whole experience rather than seeing yourself purely as a service provider, then you will gain a lot from this volunteer opportunity.We require a minimum of two weeks for the mission, with most of it spent in the local community serving through sick call sessions.
